I don't understand how people aren't grasping the concept that Cotto/Canelo would never ever happen on the same day as Floyd/Manny. They've(Oscar,Canelo) acknowledged that they wouldn't fight on the same date as Floyd if he fought Manny.

Even if they were ****** enough to believe they could go toe to toe with that fight, no one in HBO would sign off on that fight. HBO in some way or form would be involved in the mega fight, why would they create competition for themselves? It should be pretty clear to everyone that if Floyd/Manny happens under no circumstance does Canelo fight on the same day.

Uh......you may be right unless Floyd-Pac isn't really happening. Maybe Floyd is trying to rematch Cotto because he is scared of Pac. Maybe the fans don't really want that fight and would rather watch a new star like Canelo fight someone else to prove a point to Floyd?

Oscar said they weren't going against Floyd-Pac:

He said Alvarez, who signed an exclusive contract with HBO last fall, would either fight on HBO PPV or HBO, depending on the opponent. De La Hoya said they had several options for Alvarez.

They were never going to go head to head with Floyd and Pac. If the Floyd/Pac fight happened then they would immediately change the date of the fight

I can't believe the posters demanding that Canelo should fight GGG while not mentioning that Cotto, the WBC champion, should be fighting his mandatory challenger, GGG the WBA and IBO MW champion. Perhaps I am missing something although I think I clearly understand what is going on.
