Cotto will probably take an easy opponent early summer (to stay active) and then fight Canelo in the Fall (if Canelo beats Kitkland though). Cotto would also have a chance to get a big fight against the winner of FMJ and MP in early 2016 . By the time 2016 ends he would've made lots of money. LOTS. He is in a much better position than you realize.

I don't have a dog in the Cotto vs Canelo fight. Fact is it's a huge fight for BOTH of them and there's no equivalent to it. I understood Cotto's team wanting to be the shot caller in the negotiations.

But now all those A-side rights are gone. I don't think Cotto can do the same next time. There will be no A and B sides because Canelo is willing to walk away and not deal with the other team's bullcrap again.

The thing with cotto was he was bull5hitting Canelo too much.. Cotto had his demands and Canelo agreed to them, but cotto was still not wanting to make the fight happen.. I'm sure he wanted to see if he could fight Floyd which is a good idea... What cotto should have done is been honest with canelos team and say he's waiting if he can get the Floyd fight.. He jerked canelos team too much so they went another direction, cotto can't be mad at that.
