I think Oscar knows Floyd well enough to know he really doesn't want the Manny fight. He thought if they could announce Canelo/Cotto early Floyd would move off the date. Cotto didn't bite so its on to the next one.
Cotto has ducked this fight twice for a reason, Roach is smart enough to know Canelo would beat that ass and take his MW strap.

Cinnamon head is still having trouble figuring out how the business aspect of boxing works... he was dominated by Floyd.. he lost a lot of fans that night...
He cannot fight on May 2 if Floyd-Pac fight..he'll have to move... even Floyd-Cotto moves Ginger off the date...

Cinnamon head is the B-Side... he'll have to wait until mid-Feb..when Cotto decides... believe me... it won't hurt the Ginger from fighting Clottey in May on regular HBO..I'm sure they can make that fight in 2 weeks...

Unless Canelo wants to fight Triple G..then he should say that... because that's a legit excuse not to wait..but Triple G fights in Feb anyway..so he can wait..

Canelo is waaay to big for his britches right now, and Oscar is just feeding into it. Then Oscar, the idiot he is, is gonna go to TR, who is negotiating for Cotto, to ask for another one of their fighters because he has none. You think Bob is gonna hand him one, when you pretty much screwed him out of the biggest money fight he could make with Cotto? Of course not, let Canelo fight a real MW then.

Funny thing is, Cotto pretty much fights once a year, so if May/Pac happens in May, then May/Cotto will in Sept and Canelo won't have his precious Mexican dates for another year.

So its ok for someone to duck a huge fight the fans want to see simply because they dont like the fact the other side has a certain date they need to know by? They've been negotiating for months and Oscar came out a month ago and said he met all the demands. Cotto is really just being a diva and its affecting the fans and now his popularity. I was a huge cotto fan before this, I wanted him to go beat canelo but I cannot support this move and hes lost a fan. Hes being a part of the reason now why boxing isn't in the mainstream anymore. He has become a part of the problem rather than the solution.
