Latest news I'm hearing from various sources is that Floyd is going to price himself out of the fight plus HBO is really trying to make this a 50/50 event and Showtime feels it should have more control over the fight because Floyd is the bigger draw...Showtime is not opposed to Floyd-Cotto 2 because it wouldn't have to work with HBO and it would force HBO to showcase Canelo on regular HBO against a Clottey-type

    Pacquiao is not facing Khan...

Top Rank doesn't want to throw Crawford in with Pacquiao...

Pacquiao-Provo/Jessie Vargas would be the fight probably Vargas in May and Provo in fall because Provo has to fight at Barclays next and the taxes would kill Manny...

Dude you just made all that up.

The deal was that whichever network's fighter won, that network would get the delay rights. Lewis won and HBO showed the replay, and the fight was forever branded an HBO fight. The Showtime replay that was produced never aired.*

So the deal can be done. It's just not easy.*

Right off the bat, I'm told that HBO is reluctant to handle the delay the same way as in the 2002 deal, preferring instead to have any delay air simultaneously on both networks. Perhaps HBO was OK with the 2002 arrangement because Lewis was such a huge favorite over Tyson and it was worth the risk. In a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, Mayweather will be the favorite.*

If a certain side would stop being media whores this could get done. It's funny at the beginning of the week Rafael was blaming Floyd for holding it up. Now HBO/Showtime have to work it out. It's a nice spin.

If boxing was truly about the best having to fight the best like every other pro sport in the world, terms for a possible match up wouldn't be created and dictated by the fighters. They are the participants in the sporting event and should be subject to the same standards as everybody else in such a sporting event. Even though this, as boxing fans, is what we have come to expect and accept from world title bouts, it's still ludicrous that a fight would not go ahead because one boxer does not agree to the terms of another boxer. The governing boxing body should have full control over the parameters of the event which should be standardized for all competitors who are ranked by that governing body. If either of the boxers don't agree to the rules under which all other participants should have to abide by, they should be stripped of any rankings and/or titles they may be in possession of.
If boxing ever wants to be taken seriously and considered a legitimate sport by the rest of sporting world, it needs to lay out clear rules and regulations that are enforced in every fight without exception.
The choice of referee, gloves, judges, drug testing and any other essential elements of a professional bout should never be dictated by one of the athletes who are participating. If the parameters of any other legitimate sport were discovered to be augmented by one of the competitors of that sport, there would be strict and severe action taken against such an individual.
Regardless of who is truly responsible for the seemingly eternal delays and unsuccessful attempts to produce Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, this debacle is without a doubt, an embarrassment on the grandest scale, considering the negotiations have gone on this long and still there is no fight scheduled to occur. There are no excuses. This is a travesty of epic proportions and the greatest disservice to the world of boxing that has ever occurred.

If mayweather fights cotto you better believe there will be a huge backlash from the fans and that fight won't even generate a million buys. And you also better believe arum and Oscar will make pacquiao canelo on may 2nd. They're not just going to bend over and take it, they could really screw Floyd over if they wanted and take the may date and his ppv crown. Who wants to see mayweather cotto 2? We already saw that and it wasn't a close fight. Cotto won maybe 3 or 4 rounds. Canelo cotto is a much more interesting fight and of course the entire planet including mayweathers own father wants to see mayweather pacquiao. That would be the ultimate duck move and I don't think moonves would go for it either
