Canelo has talent, it's just not elite or even A level talent. The Lara fight had one round where Canelo did anything relevant and again it was only his second fight against a guy at 154 even though he'd been in the division for a while. That's the problem with Canelo and the silver spoon, his ego reached the status of a superstar before the talent did and now he won't reach that potential because of nothing but yes men.

Mosley was a world champ at 154, I did know that. Did you know that was 6 years ago and Mosley went back down to 147 after that? Beating Mosley was a nothing accomplishment, Mosley was more past it than Sergio by leaps and bounds that's not even arguable.

This also doesn't mean that it didn't have an affect on the fighter who was "drained." It's not A or B, it's A and B. The weight may have affected Cotto and Canelo, they weren't winning at any weight those nights. It's not hypocrisy it's seeing all the angles and taking all the information into account and making a logical decision.

And I disagree that he doesn't have elite talent. Not saying he's the best, but he has earned the right with his last couple of wins.
