I don't think a single guy or punch ruined Taylor. He just couldn't catch a break and kept getting caught and before long there wasn't much left of him.

The Abraham and Froch KOs had to be emotionally frustrating as well as physically damaging -- had one in the bag and got KTFO straight down the pipe with his hands up in the other. You'd come out of those fights just not knowing where to start over.

Theres a few factors to this but the pavlik KO did take away a lot of his confidence and obviously hurt his chin.

        I don't think so.

Prior to the Pavlik fight, you could make a case that he lost to both Spinks and Wright. The Spinks fight was a total robbery.

He was a shaky champion. I don't think anyone thought he would retire undefeated but many also didn't expect him to lose to someone like Pavlik. He was in both of those Pavlik fights it's not like he got beaten pillar to post for 12 rounds.

After the Pavlik fight he was schooling Carl Froch until he got drilled in the final round.

The one fight where he really showed his signs of decline was the Abraham fight, because he wasn't even winning on the scorecards and he got knocked out late.

Pavlik certainly exposed him and obviously the Abraham fight sealed the deal

Taylor's bad habits in the ring (hands low, especially after jabbing or punching, moving straight back into ropes instead of stepping off) caused his downfall, Pavlik was just the "straw that broke the camels back"
