What's in it for Showtime by letting Rigo come in and knock off their fighter and bouncing? The real question is will Showtime want to sign Rigo to a multi fight TV deal. That's the only way I see Rigo getting the fight.

Espinoza has already said he would air Rigondeaux fights so it's just up to promoters and Leo'so team.

I wish the interviewer asked what an acceptable amount would be. if $1 million is not enough, what is?

This is what happens when you pay fighters ludicrous money for fighting bums. If Santa Cruz can make three quarters of a million for a showcase against some road sweeper, how much do you expect he and his team would want for fighting someone like Rigondeaux?

Gaymon has helped create this market which effectively prevents the best matchups from happening. It's an unsustainable model that simply doesn't work and does tremendous harm to boxing in the long run.

What contributions has Santa Cruz made to ShowTime so far? His CBS fight flopped so bad they haven't even tried to show another boxing event again. He hasn't headlined a fight, he hasn't done anything crazy with ratings, he hasn't fought anyone.

He is an undercard filler who takes a chunk out of their budget fighting bums. They are losing money on him right now and will continue to do so until he beats somebody.

That's a ridiculous fight to me because the public deserves respect and they shouldn't watch a runner in the ring."
He played over in his head his son getting whooped

Rigondeaux really sits down on his punches and if he just 'ran like a chicken' he wouldn't be anywhere near as effective as he is.

Lara at least did something, finally. Made himself look like a fool demanding the fight right in front of Canelo's face. Team Rigo is too bashful to do that.

Not that I have a problem with LSC doing well financially but what the heck...
Mikey Garcia doesn't have Al Haymon as his advisor. If Santa Cruz had anyone else as his manager other than Haymon, he would have been lucky to have gotten $300,000 for his last fight. If Santa Cruz can get $700 to $800,000 fighting sparring partners in a division where fighters rarely take home more than $300,000 for a fight, why would he risk a loss against Rigondeaux for any amount of money?
