From Cotto's side, they say that they are waiting to see if Floyd vs Manny gets signed. I'm sure that the Canelo camp would be wording it a little differently.

Cotto's side is saying: It looks like if Floyd vs Manny happens, they will agree to a June date and make Cotto happy and if they don't they will agree in May and make Canelo happy.

This is exactly what I gathered from the article. I don't find Cotto being a diva here. It just sounds like Mayweather vs Pac is becoming a real possibility and GBP and Canelo need to be flexible on the May 2nd date if it does happen.

There are more factors in place determining this fight, not just Cotto and Canelo. If Mayweather and Pac were already lined up for other fights, Cotto vs Canelo would have been signed in no time at all.

Im sure you can see that stallings on these noegotiations are done on purpose from BOTH sides. IMO they are gonna fight in june, after floyd-pac in may.

There is no need to sign this contract until Floyd-Pac is signed or NOT signed (which is the more likely case). Cotto would like to hear an offer from Floyd and compare. There is no need to rush to sign to fight Canelo... Canelo has proven nothing except that he can be outboxed and that he was dominated by Floyd. Why wouldn't Cotto wait to see if he can get the Floyd fight which would mean everything to his legacy if he could win it... Beating Canelo isn't necessarily anything great at this point... And Floyd might offer Cotto more money also...

I can explain those numbers... you had the number 1 PPV draw and the number 3 PPV draw at the time fighting each other...

Pacquiao also did better numbers with Marquez than Floyd by a huge margin... Floyd always an undercard in his fights but we know Cotto would have been big with or without the undercard but it definitely helped...

Marquez had appeared twice previously in HBO PPV headline fights, generating 405,000 buys for his 2008 split-decision loss to Manny Pacquiao...

Actually Cotto is learning from past mistakes.

Cotto NEVER should have agreed to drop to 145 to fight Manny. Manny fought Hoya at 147, why did he need Cotto to drop to 145 for?

Manny didnt need it, it was just about ****ing with Cotto as much as he could.
