De la Hoya was spot on when he said cotto canelo has all the ingredients to be a huge fight. You got the biggest Mexican star vs the biggest peurto Rican star. Its a storied rivalry Mexico vs peurto Rico. Everybody and their mother wants to see that fight. If Floyd tried to go head to head with that on cinco de mayo vs anyone except Manny he will get badly embarrassed.

because cotto has headlined a ppv event 8 times, canelo has only headlined a ppv 3 times.

that is why cotto is the A side.

cotto's team feel as if they are the A side against anybody not named Floyd or manny

How do you explain Pacquiao vs Cotto's number?

There is no need to sign this contract until Floyd-Pac is signed or NOT signed (which is the more likely case). Cotto would like to hear an offer from Floyd and compare. There is no need to rush to sign to fight Canelo... Canelo has proven nothing except that he can be outboxed and that he was dominated by Floyd. Why wouldn't Cotto wait to see if he can get the Floyd fight which would mean everything to his legacy if he could win it... Beating Canelo isn't necessarily anything great at this point... And Floyd might offer Cotto more money also...

Anyone saying Cotto is a diva over this is just clueless ::forehead slap::

I can explain those numbers... you had the number 1 PPV draw and the number 3 PPV draw at the time fighting each other...

Pacquiao also did better numbers with Marquez than Floyd by a huge margin... Floyd always an undercard in his fights but we know Cotto would have been big with or without the undercard but it definitely helped...

Umm who is Canelo going to fight on May 2 if it's not Cotto? He's not fighting Triple G that's for sure... because he's admitted he's not ready for that boy...

Canelo v. Joshua Clottey on May 2 on regular HBO.... Wow! What a fight!

Canelo should shut up and wait for Floyd-Manny's negotiations to conclude...
