The 168lb fight that could elevate him above Calzaghe is beating Ward, that's the big one legacy-wise without stepping up to light-heavy.
    Froch is already above Calzaghe.

Both at 168 and in general.

Well I was planning on attending Kovalev/Pascal in Montreal (and perhaps would've been nice to visit Montreal for the first time in my life) but if Froch/Chavez Jr. is finalized will definitely go to that instead...

It's up for debate I think, but as a boxing fan I respect Froch's run more because he did much of his work on the road.

I doubt it's close to happening. I think Hearn's telling Froch what he wants to hear.

There's not been a peep stateside about this, not from HBO/Showtime/Haymon's people.

Only Bob Arum who's stated he'll file a law suit if it goes ahead.

Recall Fat Dan saying something only last week about it not bein close either.

Showtime PPV is the only network that could Broadcast this but they've not said a peep either. HBO won't work with Haymon and NBC isn't PPV which is what Froch wants. "A PPV fight on HBO in Vegas". He's used that phrase a number of times.

I've said it for a while, this fight won't happen.

They'll be concerted marketing in the UK.

There would be a UK leg as well, if it was to happen.

No, it won't and I will tell you why. Bob Arum is lying about Chavez Jr. owing him another fight. If Arum still had the promotional rights to Chavez Jr., he would be raising holy hell about Haymon and Hearn negotiating a fight with Jr. behind his back and would have filed a lawsuit against them for interfering with his promotional rights.

Bob Arum doesn't keep his mouth shut about anything. Yet, he has barely spoken about this matter. The reason is he knows he has no promotional rights to Chavez Jr. When the Chavez Jr./Froch fight is announced, Arum will claim that he cancelled the lawsuit that he allegedly filed and decided to let Chavez Jr. out of his contract for the good of boxing when the truth is that he never had a leg to stand on in this matter.

When that happens, there will be 100 posts from idiots on this site praising Arum for being such as wonderful person.
