Ward is only an inch taller than Golovkin. He's closer to 5'11" than 6''0'. I think he's going to move up to 175 eventually fighting the winner of Kovalev, and Stevenson super fight.Comment

He'll be back this year. He needs to add Golovkin, Stevenson, and Kovalev on his resume.Comment

My post #200 on that thread...
So: a year ago, Ward wanted to fight Groves next. He couldn't fight him, therefore he fought nobody since then.fair enough. havnt heard stevenson/kovaleuv call him out though, if they do and he makes excuses than yes its a duck. still want to see him fight degale though if he wins title and unless canelo/cotto want to fight ggg there aint nothing for him at 160 so he should move tooCheck my above post more carefully, the link is there.
Here it is again:

Stevenson (who is as tall as Golovkin) called Ward out at 168 -- Ward had no ears for the pimp (and I don't blame Ward, because Stevenson was a no name back then).
... I don't mention Kovalev here because is useless...

Ward should fight DeGale, but I don't think that the Brit would like to travel...
Ward badly needs one or two serious tune ups this year, in case he wants to really make it back on top of the sport...
... Unfortunately, Ward is silent these days. It was Virgil Hunter who spoke for him: Dre would be ready to fight both Golovkin and Kovalev (in this order).Comment

Stevenson made an offer to Ward, both before and after he was champion at light heavy, for a two fight deal. The first would be at 168 in California, the second at light heavyweight in Canada.fair enough. havnt heard stevenson/kovaleuv call him out though, if they do and he makes excuses than yes its a duck. still want to see him fight degale though if he wins title and unless canelo/cotto want to fight ggg there aint nothing for him at 160 so he should move too
And Kovalev's side has also expressed real interest in a Ward fight, with Ward saying, "I could beat Kovalev, but then what?" as an excuse not to make the fight.Comment

people need to stop mentioning ward until he gets himself back into a groove
and you dont duck a guy not in your weightclass
alot of these big fights are going to be difficult to make with a diva like ward though, he likes every thing his way, he thinks he's floyd mayweatherComment

I don't see any evidence that Golovkin's team want him in with Ward, but to be honest they're fairly low on the list of offenders as things stand.
Miguel Cotto is going around calling himself the middleweight champ yet has no interest in Golovkin. Mayweather and Pacquiao have failed to fight the next best guy in their division for the fifth year running. Chavez Jr has been either stoned or on a fast food binge since his last serious fight two years ago.
These are the standards the biggest names in the sport are being held to. Any fans of these guys would want to check their fire before opening up on Golovkin.Comment
