Announcing a fight on the super bowl is a dumb idea. People wont pay attention to it because people would be focus on the game. If you run ads about the fight on the super bowl, I can see it.

I can see that but a formal accouncement on boxingscene or other websites, not a lot of people would care.

26 days left of this charade. February 1st cannot come soon enough. Pacquiao will fight Vargas in April and Mayweather will fight Cotto in May for the lineal MW title. Similar situation to the last time Mayweather/Pacquiao engaged in serious negotiations in 2012. Pacquiao turned down $40 million and Mayweather fought Cotto at junior middleweight. Seems like the same same scenario 3 years later except Pacquiao turned down $40 million plus 35% upside and Mayweather will fight Cotto at middleweight this time.

They did not at any point put out what was being offered. Last I heard (Brandon Rios on fighthype) Floyd made them a counter offer, and they sent him another counter offer.

Why give a deadline if you did not sign a contract?
What split is he asking for?

He does this every time and gets a pass. Who is he going to fight? Jessie Vargas? What is the rush?
