So it's okay for Floyd to turn down 120 million to go fight for half of that or less. And instead of making this the biggest fight in history, on the biggest stage ever, it may turn into another MGM production in Vegas where Mayweather is protected by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

The UAE group is right Mayweather can't make decisions for himself cause he works for haymon

How the hell is this investment group trying to get publicity when they don't even state who it is? Is it Qatar Investment Authority who holds assets in excess of 170 billion or one of many other investment groups? UAE groups have been trying to host FIFA World Cup for years as they host FIFA U17, U20, etc and I wouldn't be surprised if they do one day. Groups from the UAE have purchased European football clubs and I see this as no different, trying to purchase a big event. Those of you who have been to UAE know that it's an immaculate place, makes a place like Vegas seem stale and outdated.

When I was in the military reenlisting in Gulf was tax free. Wonder if that 120 mil purse would have been tax free?

Arum actually took the offer seriously initially but that wasn't the issue. It's notion that Floyd shouldn't accept an offer because it's from another country that some are pushing, you'll even see some nuthugs arguing the fight should only be in Vegas, it's just latching onto another excuse.
Initially until he realized it wasn't on the up n up. And yes let's compare floyd to quillen. Let's act like Floyd can't make similar amounts of money here, where he's most comfortable. Yes lets, not use our brains and let's pick at some offer we all knew wasn't worth a damn just do we can continue a ******ed fanwar. Makes a lot of sense if all ur interested in doing is the same old crap.

Let me ask you a question.

Which of the two options is more likely to get the fighters/promoters involved the most money?

          A. Getting a high guarantee from an outside group with no experience in boxing promoting and watching them eat up the returns on their investment.

          B. Bankrolling your own self, doing what you do best, and all of the profit comes back to you and you alone.

Think about it and you'll see why Floyd and Arum dont care for these UAE people.

Top Rank isnt Manny's first promoter, he was already fighting in the US when they picked him up, and anybody whose anybody in boxing knows Top Rank. When Manny signed with them, he knew he made it to the big time.

There was nothing random about it.

These UAE people never had a chance. Even Arum never took them seriously. They kept offering Floyd money but as far as I know, Floyd isnt fighting himself. Did you read a single article about how much they are offering Top Rank? You think Floyd or Arum was gonna let an outside group they have never worked with before control the purse strings in the biggest fight of their lives?

Its hard to get you guys to use your brain sometimes.

Floyd v Pac is not doable put they good get plenty of other good fights done where the money from non ppv fights jutys isnt there to get the fights done.

They did it with horse racing just started up a day of racing and made it the richest in the world. Even a 3rd of that $120mil could make an awesome card.

The disdain this UAE group has for Pacquiao is amazing. In their articles, I never read them mention Pacquiao by name, even once. It's all only about Mayweather. Does this mean they just want to work with Floyd, no matter who he fights over there? I always noticed this omission.

              What are they offering Pacquiao?

Why did the UAE believe Floyd Mayweather would give them control over his career?

                    .....................

I just read this entire thread......what a joke!

First off tiny UAE is home to 37 of the 157 billionaires who live in the Middle East. They have "buku" money and dont need Floyd for anything.

But......business is business and taking over the biggest fight is a good investment for them and sure money which is all they are about.

If the fight is a go in Dubai, good, and if it never takes place it means nothing to them. Again, Dubai is very well known as THE place to be now days.

I am sure the offer is 150% legit.

I personally don't care where the fight takes place, I just vote for it to happen as it is great for the sport.

so basically mayweather promotions and top rank would get screwed
