He cant keep putting together fights like he did, it will destroy boxing and he'll lose money.
True Haymon does have many fighters on his rooster, but those fighters still need TV deals to fight. Look at poor Rigo, booted off American TV. And those fighters all have different deals with Haymon. For instance, Khan is a free agent right now, but Haymon is still his advisor. Khan can fight on HBO now, but also this would make it impossible for him to fight other Haymon fighters on Showtime.

When HBO or Showtime sign a fighter, they are paying them to remain exclusive. So if they fight on NBC, they will not be having a HBO or Showtime contract. So fighters on NBC will not be able to face fighters on the other two networks.

I don't see how this is good for fans. Good for Haymon perhaps. The lynchpin of this all proves that Haymon is not interested in any good matchups, and I believe this because casuals just care about KOs mostly. The lynchpin is Wilder, and Wilder sucks. If they want to keep Wilder a champ, if he does win, they can only keep him there if he fights bums. Top HWs would kill him.

Nope, it means that his half of the fighters such as guys with 12-0, 15-0, 19-0 records will be fighting every 13-6-2 record fighter they can dig up. I am willing to bet the first NBC show will either start off this way and continue or there will be some mirage of real competition for the first show but putting these guys against fighters also unbeaten but midwest variety unbeaten which can be worse than 13-6-2 record fighters. Meanwhile he will do everything in his power to preserve the egos, arrogance, and unbeaten records of his fighters. His shows will NOT be like the ShoBox cards where equal fighters face equal fighters.....prospects against prospects....he will have none of that.

Like i said in other thread al Haymon goal is to create multiple
MikeTyson-esque superstar. He's trying the Tyson-Floyd recipe to create superstar.

More KO + "0" Loss = Supertar = More Money

He's businessman after all. His goal is to gain more money and entertain the CASUAL FANS not the hardcore fans.

At first I thought it was a commercial for Wilder vs Stiverne. But the commercial gave me chills too.

Might as well accept he has ultimate control of the immediate future of boxing. If he brings it back to netowrk tv, id be a happy fan.
Is there any reason to believe Haymon will suddenly break from his strategy of showcasing fighters and low risk high rewards? What I'm guessing is we'll have nothing but Showcase fights on NBC Sports (previously known as the Versus channel) and then four good fights/cards on regular NBC.

This is Haymon we're talking about here. The only really meaningful fights we've seen from him in the past were mandatory fights, and even then there's no guarantee anything will happen.

I'm sure we'll see plenty of Gary Russell vs TBA, lot's of the good up and comers like Errol Spence and the likes showcasing their skills against somewhat decent opposition, but the big money fights will still be on Showtime and PPV. NBC Sports would have to suddenly get amazing ratings for advertising money to pay for good, quality cards. So I'm not going to let myself be optimistic yet. Show me some good cards and I'll be a believer, until then I'm skeptical. But I will say I HOPE he doesn't f uck this up for the sake of boxing.

I think you're spot on. Big showcase fights so his guys look good and let the casuals eat it up when they see "the next biggest thing in boxing" score a big KO on network television. Sadly, many of the casuals fans tuning in to see some boxing won't know the difference between Danny Garcia VS Lucas Matthysee and Danny Garcia VS Rod Salka. Even so, they can always dress up the presentation and feed them the played out underdog taking on the champ narrative. At best we can hope for a decent and competitive fight between two mid level guys.
