You people act like its nothing but the fact of the matter is that it could be everything. Not making an excuse but facts are facts.
Except that on Cottos previous fight he weighed in at 146 when he could have weighed 147. That's not a guy struggling to make weight.

It helps them sleep at night and soothes the pain.

At 6 min mark Cotto responds:

Question: When you had to cut weight do you feel that it takes away from your power in any way shape of form?

Cotto: No, I'm pretty healthy. I ate very well for this fight. My strength is too much for (Manny) this fight tomorrow night.

I love how the cotto apologists seem to think they know better than cotto himself. Athletes love to make excuses for losing, if cotto felt that the weight affected him, believe me he would have used every opportunity to ***** about it. He got beat up, end of discussion.

Not so fast. They are my two favorite fighters in all of boxing today. They are also different fighters now. They are better fighters now. I'll tell you one thing, there are weight classes for a reason. Cotto was drained in that fight and had trouble making welterweight. It's one of Manny's best wins, STILL. He was amazing that night BUT if they fight right now, Cotto would hurt my boy. Cotto is too strong for Manny now and he is too skilled. They met at the right time and let's leave it at that. As a matter of fact, the way Cotto is looking under Roach, he would also beat Floyd as well. People better leave Cotto alone right now. LoL. He is better than ever. His power is back and his level of fitness is up to par. His defense is A level as well. No smaller fighter is going to beat him. Let Bradley come up in weight and watch him get KO'ed, and QUICK!
so cotto beats a nobody like Delvin Rodríguez and a cripple who was looking to cash out and from this you conclude now that cotto is a monster under fredi roach? you are a moron

That's it. Manny was just too fast and his punches were coming from everywhere and Cotto didn't see them coming. Those are not my words. They are Cotto's own words.

When your already right on the edge at 146 and looking not good fighting at that weight another pound a year later can kill you , and Cotto went straight up a division , you idiots have no clue .

And Manny refuses point blank to fight Cotto without a CW so it must be a big advantage otherwise the weight would not matter to Manny but it does !

Well then he shouldn't have made the fight. When you know all the conditions before hand, and agree, you have to be accountable for your actions. I don't see cotto *****ing about it, I think it's about time his so called fans give it a rest. But none if the guys crying on here ate his fans, this is about trying to discredit pacquiao.

In hindsight I bet he thinks he shouldnt have taken the the fight , money and promotional pressure has a way of making fighters do things they dont really want to do , remember Cotto didnt want his title on the line and was pressured by arum , and the thing with weight problems fighters have is that they never really know until during the fight or in that last 24 hrs when they are not pumping up the way they should , they all think they can makes it strong and sharp and then realize their snap is not there , their resistance is not there , its all too late then .

The fact that Manny called him out for a 2nd fight and then again refused to fight him without another CW is proof the weight played a big part , how do you call out a reigning WC that you already beat and then try and dictate that he comes in at a lowering CW again , wtf is that , if Cotto called him out I can live with that but Manny did and then tailed it .

Weight aside if Manny was indeed on PEDS he should be discredited , but thats one horse that bolted so we will never really know on that .
