Matts has no chance of getting that match-up. I would think that Garcia is ahead of him in the "Mayweather Sweepstakes".

Completely disagree. Maidana is dangerous until the final bell, and punches from weird-ass angles whilst throwing equally weird-ass punches at times. He does have his gassed-out slumps during the mid-rounds (much like Sergio Martinez), but he's just there in front of a guy until the very end.
I don't rate Matthysse anywhere near as much, despite his power being more devastating than Maidana's. I've seen Matthysse get very frustrated and disheartened when things aren't going his way (Judah, Garcia), and even downright sloppy (Molina Jr., which nearly cost him). Often he just runs out of ideas and stops throwing anything, which is the worst thing to do against Mayweather.
As such, Mayweather would have a far easier time with the smaller Matthysse. I think he would embarrass him more than Garcia did. All this bearing in mind that I like Matthysse and sorely wanted him to win that fight. Ultimately, I can readily acknowledge that Maidana is better.
I really do not think Maidana is better in any area though his crudeness works in his favour. I don't rate Maidana at all. Lucas is far more polished and for me hes getting sharper.
I think the Judah fight (which I had him winning) was a learning experience, he spent long trying to box and pace himself baring in mind he'd never been past about 4 rounds. The Molina fight I feel he just got caught by a big puncher - one he probably underestimated a little. He dominated that fight and showed a lot of growth aside from the knockdowns.
I think the better the opponent the better he will perform.
He knows he has to put it on Floyd and can't waste the first 3-4 feeling him out.
He seen the problems Maidana posed and will pressure, pressure, pressure.
If he goes in being calculated then definitely he will get picked apart.
History repeats itself he has all the tools to give Floyd big problems.
Maidana also gets frustrated and he can't adapt he did so against Alexander, Khan, Soto Karass & so on the difference is Lucas can make the adjustments and is a 12 round fighter.
Unlike Maidana who fades in the second half everytime and gets slower and slower where Lucas continues getting stronger. He don't like bodyshots one bit everytime you hit him to the body he gives up ground and backs off he even did against Broner.
Floyds defense works best against fighters who throw basic, textbook combinations that was Maidana's big mistake in the second fight IMO he tried to be too textbook. When he doubled up, tripled up he got through.
You have to be prepared to miss which Lucas is. Too many fighters try to be too precise against him. Maidana also needs to be set, Lucas don't.Comment

People still did laugh, like me. It was a complete cherry pick of the highest proportions. Yeah Maidana made a great account for himself but hindsight is 20-20. No one out side of a few Maidana blow hards predicted anything remotely close to that. And with good reason. Maidana is an exciting fighter with average abilities.Comment

Its not just the Maidana fight its the Chavez fight, Oscar, Castillo Hatton and Cotto when he pressured. He has never looked great against any decent pressure fighter who throws volume really.
The key to beating any slick pure boxer is too apply pressure and slow him down.
Cotto didn't get through when he put it on him, he made the adjustment of going high-low, doubling and tripling his shots up. He stepped across, would use throw aways and come down the middle - that is what Lucas does best. He creates those openings down the center.
Floyd has slowed drastically he always did need time too think. He is a precision puncher who don't throw unless he knows it will land.
There are many fighters out there that can give the current Floyd hell but he knows that and that is why he will avoid them all. Pacquaio is not the threat people think IMO hes let it build knowing fans will go overboard and will make it the biggest fight ever. Like Canelo, he is not the threat people think or claim, I really believe that. He wins that fight easy.
Roach and Pacquaio know how to beat him but knowing and doing are two different things, he hasn't the tools to do it.
Easy 10-2 type win for Floyd.
Khan is a tougher fight stylistically, so is Lara and Lucas.Comment

Lucas has 0.001 % chances of beating Floyd.
Lucas isn't an all out brawler like Maidana, he picks more his shots, he's more of a boxer than Maidana, he's smaller than Maidana, punching power wise I'd rate him below Maidana just by a little bit, he's shorter than Maidana.
You guys who think Lucas could have a chance against Floyd are in big dope, style-wise Mayweather will beat Lucas in a probably 12-0 / 11-1 total dominance.Comment

the same things came from broner's team first (only if the fight is on ppv, his dad, only for a belt, his trainer). read the previous thread, nobody approached to lucas about that fight, he just listened what broner said, words, nothing else. broner is just calling fighters out because he has a tongue that allows him to speak.Comment

He didn't say any ****ing thing like that.Comment
