so inoue KOs a 40 year old 4 feet tall narvaez and that makes him FOTY? and adrian hernandez win isn't all that either.
narvaez just isn't very good at all and 115lbs is one of the weakest divisions in boxing. there is a reason why inoue avoided flyweight because you have guys like gonzalez, estrada, viloria, shiming, etc.
crawford's one win against gamboa is better than beating narvaez and hernandez.Last edited by Divine Hammer; 01-02-2015, 01:17 PM.Comment

More well known? Inoue was seen by more of his countrymen than Floyd Mayweather was seen by Americans...Comment

More well known in America.... Also Japan is sort of secluded with their boxing, they don't care for the outside world so this is why not many American boxing fans know of InoueComment

It's because the weight gaps are calculated over a percentage , not on absolute weight.
For instance, if fighter A weights 100lbs and fighter B 150lbs, Fighter B would have a 50% advandace in body weight.
If fighter A weights 200lbs and fighter B 250lbs (same absolute difference) then the advantage is only 25%Comment

It's strange that so many people say Japan is secluded with their boxing...yet their shows this week were screened in:
Japan
China
Peru
Argentina
Venezuela
Their viewer base domestically dwarfes that of the US (The Uchiyama card got around 6.2 Million viewers).
More well known in America is a fair point though as boxing "writers" surely they should make an effort to actually cover the sport, not just the sport as it happens on their door step?
I know some writers do make an effort, I think Jake Donovan said he was getting up at 3AM to cover the cards the other day which is deserving of credit but why is it so few? If you're a "boxing writer" surely you write about "boxing" not just "American boxing".
I understand Inoue is a bit of an oddity now (though Joe K, Matt McGrain and various others tipped him from his debut) but it's not like he's the only name in Japanese boxing. And staying with Inoue WHY would he leave home where Fuji TV bankroll his fights? Is there really a fight for him in the US? (Cuadras's last fight went untelevised didn't it?)
For what it's worth Britain is just as bad and Boxnation has failed British boxing fans by ignoring the cards from JapanComment
