Dam this guy beat a higher calibre opponent than Crawford, Burns was a weak champ, Gamboa over sized, and Beltran was just a sparring partner for Pac who got a few bad decisions

Also Kovalev beat Hopkins but he didnt do it in a impressive fashion yes he out box him in a lackluster fight but B hop didnt throw anything back. B hop lost the fight on purpose for some reason.

But this Jap knocked out Omar Navaez and went up a weight division to beat the lineal champ and Omar is better than anyone else on Crawford resume that is a fact. But Crawford will win it because he is with Top Rank and is more well known and he is being pushed as the future star.

What is even more impressive about Naoya Inoue is he only has 8 fights and already has two weight division titles and destroyed a guy in impressive fashion within two rounds, Omar /naveaz wasn't even hurt by the much bigger nonito donaire who was 3 classes his size but this Japanese guy just bested him and finished it off with a beautiful body shot in 2.

Would love to see Inoue vs Roman Gonzalez in 2015.

Right now fighter of the year contenders are

        Naoya inoue
        Terrence Crawford
        Kovalev

but knowing how the BWAA vote for popularity Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao might win lol.

Inoue has a better resume of Wins than Canelo, Cotto, Khan, Crawford

Its also HOW you win, Canelo had a questionable win over Lara and a close fight with Trout and got his ass embarrassed and out boxed cleanly by Floyd, and was even given a gift draw by cj ross lol.

Inoue has only 8 fights yet he beat a guy who was long reigning champ and dethroned him in impressive fashion with no question mark or close fight win.

The guy deserves it but he won't win, its either Crawford or Kovalev but I have a feeling Kovalev will get it because Hopkins lost badly in that fight and Hopkins rarely loses like that ever, but also Hopkins is head and shoulders above anyone Crawford beat.

                  WOW that was impressive!

FOTY for sure, I did not expect that.

The Japanese deserve a fighter of the year.
