I find it amusing that just as many people blaming Floyd and Arum. Let me understand, because it is disrespectful for non-Mexicans to fight on this date we will get Mayweather Cotto. :smileysex
I place more blame on Mayweather BTW but Arum has made enough ****** statements to keep the debate alive.

          • Cotto v Floyd 2 isn't something new. We already knew what's going to happen, cotto does not have the stamina to keep up with floyd, it's just how he's built, it changes nothing, he's born to gas out in a 12-round fight--no matter how hard he trains. He just can't make out of 12 rounds without tiring. It is what it is.

With mayweather fight, volume punching is mandatory, because it's already given that no one can outbox floyd, that is his area of expertise--that's his territory--you don't want to be in there. But, the blueprint is already there, floyd's output is very low and say what you will about his accuracy but it's still clearly a weakness that a true elite can exploit. Another weakness he has is, you can get him in full defensive mode if you can decently cut off the ring and has great mix of offense, meaning, when he is in that mode, he is tamed, and the offensive fighter has great chance to get that round, now, floyd has inside game and can counter from time to time, and he can get away with it against lesser fighters, but with true elites, he will have to give that round 99% of the time. This hasn't been truly exploited, not only because he is so good, but, he's isn't fighting those few elites that can truly exploit it. Floyd fans are in denial but Manny Paquiao can easily do this. Easy peasy, every ingredient are all there for manny to just overwhelm floyd. Once pacquiao felt floyd's power is not by any means troublesome, it's really game over, nothing floyd can ever do to stop paquiao, floyd fans may laugh but you will see.

Floyd knew this very clearly from the start, it's as clear as a samurai can smell blood from a very formidable opponent or opponent of his equal powers. That's why he would move heaven and earth to avoid the fight for as long as he can--that's why he's tentative--that's why he can't make up his mind; he's saying manny is not on his level but the way the words comes off out of his mouth holds no weight whatsoever, he clearly knows what's going on.

But, anyway, there is not much to move around avoiding the fight; sooner or later, he's going to fight him not because he wants too but because he doesn't have a choice at all, in short, his back is against the wall, and even the most coward human being on the universe, if you trapped him and back him up in the corner and has nowhere to run, he will eventually come clawing back to fight for his life. All he hope for is for manny to get defeated by father time, surprisingly, it hasn't happen yet, regardless of manny's wear and tear throughout the years. So floyd is trying to stall some more. But folks, they are going to fight sooner or later. It's inevitable.

            • funny how cotto fans will bring the floyd fight for cotto, but neither floyds team or showtime have even mentioned cottos name, other than a rumor about haymon, floyds team will bring khans name or even pac, but they wont even mention cotto...
last year when arum was negotiating for cotto-martinez there was an offer made by Golden Boy, and cottos team did not hesitate to mention that offer while negotiating with arum, but now you will only hear "floyd is a possibility"...

Pretty heavy history. You gotta be in this sport a long time to be on the verge of accomplishing things like that. And to do it all while remaining undefeated? Deserves some semblance of respect... right?
