Why are people saying Froch is doing to Degale what Calzaghe did to Froch? Didn't Froch give Groves TWO shots at him and finished him twice.

I am by no means a Froch fan,but you have to understand the Chavez fight pays x amount and a DeGale fight does not,add to that Chavez is a fight Froch will be a favourite, against DeGale it is very much a 50/50.it isn't just about money at this point,it is legacy and comparability to Calzaghe too,if Froch does not headline and win in Vegas he has to accept he does not compare to Joe,and if he lost to James too he would most certainly never be considered the same level as the Welshman.

This is one of the reasons Froch was desperate to rematch and defeat Kessler,in his book he tries to paint a picture it was a clear and decisive win, comparable to Calzaghe's clear and definitive win over Kessler six years earlier ? Now he wants a Vegas fight and sees a soft touch in Jr.

He wouldn't even entertain talk of a rematch with Mikkel as he knows that rematch was closer than he would lead you to believe.

This is not like Calzaghe who left the sport after Roy Jones fight still unproven with alot left to be desired.

Froch has fought the best competition available for like 5 years straight now and is the best 168lber in the world. He wants to leave as a global boxing star by cashing out against the big names. Degale would get wrecked anyway. He's better off fighting Dirrell.

Chavez Jr. Is alot better then Roy was for Joe. That'd be like Froch fighting Winky Wright or Shane Mosley. That's how terrible that match up was.

I doubt it. The IBF doesnt fool around when it comes to mandos.

Let's say Froch gets the Chavez fight, in Vegas, and it's the last time he steps through the ropes. You'd think the IBF would want to be part of that.

Stripping a two belt champion before his last fight is pretty poor form. Particularly if we factor in the Groves defences.

Froch should tell the IBF to shove their title up their ass and vacate and go out on his own terms. At this point Froch is laughing at them for thinking they have any control. DeGale fight is ****.

Lol, that is very poor logic, but I know what you're getting at.

The way the IBF has been, I don't think they'll hesitate to strip him at all if the Chavez fight happens. Don't really have a problem with Carl going that course though. I think the IBF would be setting up DeGale-Dirrell(Andre) in that case. Great skill match up there

What the IBF really mean is that they don't expect Froch to defend against DeGale. Otherwise they wouldn't have put out this statement.
