Why do people get upset when you question the validity of Cotto's win over Sergio?

He just does his job but some people need to be objective on here, mainly his fan boys. Sergio Martinez was not a 100% healthy and it was apparent his previous fight before Cotto. He struggled with a guy a prime Martinez dominates. His knees were gone and Cotto did what he had to do. He finished him and had to move on to better things but please, let's not sit here and act like he beat a prime Sergio because that is absurd. I understand that is not Miguel's fault that Sergio signed the contract but Sergio wanted to cash out. He knew his legs were gone. The fact that Martinez is pondering retirement should give you that indication. It's hard to judge if Miguel is really improved under Freddy Roach since the competition is suspect. Let's see what he does against Canelo if he fights him next.
you should make a poll about this, lets see how the whole forum sees this not just cotto fans , crippled or not??

It was clear to me that Martinez was at the end of his career in the fight prior to Cotto.

2008-2012 Martinez would have Ko'd Cotto in 3-5 rounds at best.

To be clear, alot of people are traditionalist, if you win a title, you need to accept challenges at that weight class or drop the title.

Cotto should be aiming directly for Glovokin, instead he wants to fight Canelo.

However I do give Cotto credit for fighting Martinez, whilst others have ducked Martinez.

We should be past that by now, but they still pretend Martinez wasn't crippled. I don't get how anyone denies it.
Martinez wasn't crippled... does he get disability since the ass beating Cotto gave him or something?

I'm still surprised most didn't see this happening, maybe people thought the Murray fight was an off night, I certainly didn't. It was never a matter of whether Cotto can win or not, it's the fact that he was suppose to. Despite Martinez' movement being too diminished, Cotto looked in great shape, at the weigh in you could see that he's a solid 154.

Let me first start by saying I'm a fanboy of NO man. I respect All fighters. I'm a Huge Cotto fan. I'm Big on Martinez. I was a little turned off(pause), by his constant calling out of the much smaller May & PAC while being champ at MW.

With that said I don't believe Martinez was 100%, but Cotto looked very technically sound in that fight. Before the bout many were saying Cotto was going to get killed. Martinez himself said he was hurt by a Cotto left hook, not his knee. Lou Dibella confirmed this as well.

Nevertheless, much respect to Both Fighters

Because it's the same people who said Cotto didn't stand a chance before it happened and now it just seems like they are making excuses.

Even if it was mostly because of Sergios knee, Cotto should get credit for putting him on shakes legs in the first place.

With all that said Cotto would have always given Martinez problems, in the end, Cotto was the most skilled fighter Martinez had ever faced. Martinez acknowledged that himself as the fight drew closer.
