Why do people get upset when you question the validity of Cotto's win over Sergio?

Cotto or Martinez were both not in their prime!!!!
Fact is cotto haters say martinez was a cripple but yet Sergio says his knees were fine. Says he simply got caught with a brilliant left hook and went down hill from there!!!

He said he was fine because he wasn't going to make excuses. Martinez was classy about it.

In the aftermath he's considering retirement, admits to possibly needing more surgery, and has said he will definitely walk away if he does.

Martinez just collected a fat paycheck in the fight in exchange for his MW crown. Dude didn't even spar for the fight and showed up with his leg barely held up together with some crazy glue and duct tape. Cotto should get very little credit for that win.

Cotto's one of my personal favorites, and I've never been a fan of Sergio, but that was pretty obvious - Sergio did not have legs, and it was painful to watch even from the very first minute.

Heading in, obviously, I thought that Sergio would do a number on him. Sure, I thought the knees could be a little issue but nothing to greatly hinder him. That being said, Cotto did look like a beast in there and I can't take that away from him. On the other side of the coin, there is just no way in hell I can say that Sergio's lack of knees didn't play a major role in his performance....even though he did get tagged with a great Cotto hook in the first. Sergio was starting to come back a little as the fight progressed, so I can't say that he was completely obliterated from that hook and never recovered at all. If this were the case, Cotto would have gotten him out of there in the second round. He repeatedly fell to the canvas from little shoves/pseudo-hooks or whatever that should not have affected his balance at all. I saw his knees buckle several times just from him trying to maneuver around the ring.

I agree with you, it was painful to watch at times because I knew during that fight that Sergio was done and was likely never fighting again. I just don't know why he didn't have his surgeries done in America by the best in the business. Whoever worked on him seems to have done a hackjob.

I've rooted for Cotto except against Manny, but Sergio was pitiful; I was hoping the fight would get stopped sooner because Sergio's legs looked like they were ready to give in any minute of the fight. He was limping obviously.

.. Martinez didn't win one single round in that fight... And later he said his legs were alright... And that he was badly caught in the 1st round... As if Gotto didn't pathetically carry him for 9 rounds...
