How do you rate J M Marquez since the John fight?

Marquez was always on shaky ground. As talented as he is, he never had a country in his corner like Pacquiao does.

I am very high on Marquez's ability; the man is lethal but I wonder how much of that has been to his detriment.

People talk all this mess about Nacho Beristain, but where has Top Rank been when it comes to Marquez's publicity and making him a high profile fighter?

Beristain trains Marquez and has looked out for him since day one, but he doesn't have the money to throw at Marquez, nor the influence to force the issue with him.

It is very sad, but I wonder whether we are seeing this dissipation with Marquez because Top Rank chose to go with Morales, keeping Marquez away from him and on the backburner while making Morales a huge star?

You're telling me that in the duration of three Morales-Barrera fights, a company as reputable as Top Rank could not do something with a fighter as talented as Marquez?

Just in case you missed the story, Beristain has pulled JMM away from Arum because Beristain feels JMM deserves a better deal and a higher pay. In fact it was in a printed publication that Beristain was looking for a new promoter for JMM. So don't be suprised that TOP RANK has kept distance from JMM. I'm just not sure if TOP RANK's contract has expired.

JMM is old, worse yet he has never been quite the same since fighting Pacquiao and he under estimated Chris John's footwork and handspeed.

JMM is still among the best in his division, though. But moving up to 130 could be difficult for him should he go for Pac, Barrera or even Morales.
