    Is James Kirkland finished?

    Is the "Mandingo warrior" retired?

Didn't fight this year and no info when he'll be back in the ring. He's entertaining but his style of fighting and the way he trains with Ann Wolfe means a short career....Y'all think he's finished or will he come back in 2015 and look as sharp as ever?

I enjoy Kirkland alot. Dude shows alot of heart in fights, the Angulo fight was great as well as the Tapia fight. I hope to see him back and get a title shot but unfortunately his inactivity will haunt his career. He needs to figure out his business and start back from the start fighting more than once, twice or three times. He needs to bust out 4 or 5 and then go for that title.

Kirk's so entertaining (and vulnerable) that he makes for compelling match-ups against almost anyone. He's always caught up in some sort of drama though, dude is such a disappointment.

I know he was having promotional problems with 50cent.He's shot been out for too long Anne wolf over works him.it's hard for him to cutt weight he has a weak chin. It's a shame to see wasted talent but hopefully he does make a comeback

I quit taking him to seriously when an average puncher knocked him out in the first round. A fighter who attacks with reckless abandon and is easy to hit has to have a great chin to reach the top. Kirkland doesn't have a very good chin. He has been fighting a long time and he is 30 years old but he never won a world title belt. If he hasn't won a world title by now I doubt he ever will. He will not beat a really good fighter who can punch like Canelo or Lara or a few other top 154 pounders.

One of the most entertaining fighters consistently I have ever watched and I have been a fan since 1997.

It would be everyone's loss if he never gets back in there in meaningful fights.

Angulo in his prime was a top 154lber and could punch, Kirkland beat the prime and durability out of him that fight is on my list as one of the most entertaining fights so far this decade.

Yes that was his best win. Angulo was not a champion and he was just as easy to hit as Kirkland. I never said Kirkland wasn't entertaining. He is about as entertaining and exciting as they come. What I was saying is that he is not good enough to be a champion and he will just be a contender in the lower part of the top ten for a couple of years and then fade away. Look at the way Canelo handled Angulo and you will see a fighter at the championship level that I don't think Kirkland can ever achieve but maybe I am wrong an Kirkland will win a world title.

After Kirkland beat the piss out of him, that was a terrible beating and he never looked as good again.
