Why is Fury focused on a fighter that has pretty much retired from the sport of boxing?

Fury is a dumb ****. Haye isnt going to put his personal money in escrow. Fury isnt going to get millions from Haye personally if he gets injured. You dont fight, you dont get paid. They have insurance to cover the admin and promotional expenses if the fight gets cancelled due to injuries. If Fury's team didnt pay for insurance then that is their fault.

Fury says he wants the fight but then demands conditions he knows will never happen. The same as pricing yourself out, its a duck.

Haye is a shocking sportsmen, the way he treated Fury was disgraceful.

Fury must have really hurt Haye's feelings when he embarrassed him countless times in the build up.

              Free publicity.

If Fury talks up wilder, some places will publish it. But if he throws around Haye's name, more media outlets will publish it and he will get his name thrown around for free. Then when he sets up his next fight against a cab driver he can hope to have bigger sales from having his name out there more.

Plus I mean with wilder theres also a good chance of him getting knocked out, but when you call out an injured retired guy, chances of getting knocked out are way less.

Haye is terrified of Tyson Fury, like he is terrified of big men in general.

Considering the fact that his fight with Chisora was buried on ESPN3.com it doesn't seem as if his tactics are working on this side of the Atlantic.

He isn't. Peter Fury was asked about Haye during an interview for his local paper and that was his answer. "He's not on our radar. That fight isn't happening."

Haye, btw, has moved to the USA and signed with Al Haymon, so the chances of him getting in a ring with Fury, even without the escrow money, are something less than zero.
