No one's misinterpreting him. The guy is a lying scumbag. He's been saying ****e for years and years and people keep buying it.

This is just another excuse to bring up in his massive media bag of excuses as to why he can't make this fight, despite constantly trying so he says. The part he leaves out is that he's trying very hard alright....very hard to make sure it doesn't happen.

Mayweather and Pac have both fought on these dates against non mexican opponents without Arum ever bringing this up before. Why now? Because he's a **** who will say anything to pretend there is a good excuse, sorry, reason as to why he suddenly can't make the fight.

It's one of the greatest traditional big boxing days in the sports history and there has never been a rule of respect that it has to be a Mexican fighting.

This is one of the biggest fights in boxing history. Whatever bull**** Arum is bringing up about respecting a public holiday is ****ing hilariously pathetic. Anyone falling for it even more so.

Even more to the point, if Arum and Pac fans are now saying it's disrespectful for Floyd to fight on Cinco De Mayo against a non Mexican, why is it ok for Pac to do so and never have this question of disrespect brought up or even the thought crossing anyone's mind?

Arguably Pacs most epic victory and one of his biggest ever fights at the height of his fame was on May 2nd against an English fighter. Where was Arums respect then? Why do Pac fans agree with him here, against their rival of course, while never even remotely considering the slightest possibility of disrespect for Pac fighting an English guy on Cinco de Mayo? Absolutely, mind numbingly absurd.

Come on people, anyone who knows anything about business knows what Bob Arum is doing. He is not trying to prevent the Pacquiao Mayweather fight. He is trying to make the most money he can. Having canelo cotto fight on The Mexican holiday in May would raise the ppv buys vs any other date, a fight in which Arum is co promoting, meaning more money or Arum if that fight happens on that date. Pac vs May can happen on any date and it will get as many buys as if it were on may 2nd. Hes trying to make the most money he can because he is a business man, albeit a greedy one. Do it in June and you may even get more pay per view buys because of an extra month of promotion and buildup.

If Mayweather will not negotiate any other date and will walk away from the pacquiao fight and fight someone else on May 2nd, you can bet your bottom dollar Arum will agree to that date. That would take buys away from Canelo Cotto, would still beat Floyds PPV vs Khan but would lose a few hundred thousand buys probably to Floyds fight.

As a business owner I understand completely with Arums reasoning. But we all know Floyd wont budge so they will have to fight Mayweather May 2nd and Move Canelo Cotto to a different date.

Yes it makes sense business wise but, at this point Bob should quit being such a Douche and be willing to compromise.

You see who's blocking this fight! why the *** does he care? Just deliver your fighter - Canelo nor Cotto is Top Rank - Cotto has yet to even sign his contract! Cotto fights under his own banner, but partners up with Top Rank for majority of his fights - People please wake up ! Mayweather is even openly requesting the fight, Manny is openly requesting the fight, the only real roadblock is Arum - WHY???????? My Filipino brothers please do not come to this guy's aid !!

Yeah, and I'm sure Honest Bob was just trying to raise the revenue in boxing when he said Pac's cut had to heal and that the MGM had to build an outdoor stadium too
