In the Cotto-Alvarez talk, Cotto is the bigger star, right now:

-Mayweather vs Pacquiao/Khan - Cinco de Mayo weekend (May)
-Cotto(c) vs Alvarez - Puerto Rican Day parade weekend (June)

-Mayweather vs Alvarez/Cotto 2 -Mexican Independence Day weekend (Sep)

June 13th (PR Day weekend) to Sept 13th (Mexican Independence Day weekend) is only a 15 week turnaround, but I believe doable.

Floyd finishes up the Showtime deal with two massive events, Alvarez gets back the Mexican dates for the rest of his career, and everyone's happy.

I think Cottos holding out on purpose. He knows Floyd vs May needs to happen in boxing, and having Cotto Canelo in June following would still be great for the sport. If Cotto doesnt sign by the middlento end of January they aint fighting in May. I pray Cotto exposes Arum more by demanding Canelo in June, but itd still be disrespectful lol

This makes sense, and that is why it will never happen . I would rather see Mayweather vs Cotto now, Arum will but Manny in with Vargas (so you can see that the cold war is not really over).

As the A-side, they need to pressure team Canelo and especially Arum to move the fight date to June. I've said it awhile back that the fight wouldn't happen because Floyd and Arum are both control freaks and are too greedy, but it's so obvious that Arum can't handle the simple fact that his team is the B-side when it comes to the Mayweather fight. He'll do anything within his power to have full control of the fight or he'll sabotages the fight from happening if he can't get Floyd to agree to his terms.
