I don't wanna start anything racial, but the truth is...

It's something my History professor told us (He's black), about African Americans naturally hating themselves and eachother. You will see Floyd getting praise from every other race/nationality other than White/American and African American. In fact what I have learned in person, from college and work, is that the majority of Americans (Black or White) hate Floyd and think he's boring. While most of his actual fans are of other nationalities. In my native country, Dominican Republic, they love Floyd over there. Every Black co worker I have spoken to about Floyd, don't like him and feel Pacquiao is better. While Hispanics are more convinced of Floyd and say he is the best.

Again, I don't mean to turn this into a racial thread, i'm just going by my experience. There's literally no African American person I have spoken to that likes Floyd. I'm actually surprised there's some on this site. Floyd is even liked more in the UK than U.S. I suspect he gets a lot of PPV buys from Hispanics.

Oh and what a coincidence, my History prof, who's black, also doesn't like Floyd Mayweather. BTW, i'm not saying ALL white/black people hate Floyd, there are exceptions. But exceptions are just that.

Roy is my all time favorite fighter and the greatest I've ever see fight live in my lifetime... The same was said about Roy when he was p4p the best...he was boring because he was so dominant, if he wasn't such a great showman we wouldn't have had any suspense. You can here the nostalgic tone in Roy's voice. He reminiscent of his time at the top.

Having grown up in the 90's watching Roy, I can tell you he was a lot more entertaining then Floyd. Roy fooled around more in the ring, plus he had one punch KO power, which made him very hard to rush or pressure.

In terms of their mental makeup outside the ring, very similar I would say. Roy took the whole prima donna thing to another level, making fighters jump through hoops, and not taking risks unless absolutely necessary. He was the first fighter of that level who really openly measured risk vs reward and was not willing to go out of his way to make the best fights. I think Floyd has taken it even further, and partly because Floyd has fought in a much more competitive era, and still avoided really competitive fights, and fights that were not hard to make.

I don't think Roy in a million years would have let the Pacquiao fight drag out this long.

On a personal level I think Floyd is much more dislikable then Roy, the whole Mayweather clan are not likeable at all. Floyd jr is the best one...and that is saying something.

Both being two of all favorite fighters I doubt the avoided anyone....talent wise they are the clear best of their era arguably resume wise too

OK looking back, why would Roy as a bigger star fight eubanks, benn, Collins, calzaghe, or michaelcewski on foreign soil knowing how how he was robbed in the Olympics and also being the A side..business wise that's ******

50/50 was unrealistic for Hopkins considering Jones beat him already, was a bigger star beat better fighters.

As far as Floyd, him avoiding margarita and Williams is a joke to me considering Judah n baldomir were ranked higher and actually held the true ww title

The same fighters people say Roy and Floyd avoided they went on to beat better fighters than them....sometimes even beat the conqueror of the guy they supposedly ducked
