Also, I see nothing on the front page about this.
Mirage Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas - The World Boxing Council has approved a tournament style eliminator, at welterweight and junior middleweight, to set mandatory challengers to WBC 147 and 154 champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (47-0, 26KOs). The proposal, which the WBC approved, is to have the top eight challengers - at 147 and 154 - to face each other in a tournament format until one man, in each division, to challenger for Mayweather's title.

        It's all bs

They using Floyd's name when he will be retired by the time the tournament is over

Floyd tells WBC what to do. WBC made PAC mandatory and they are not enforcing it so instead , to save face, they put out this idea

Knowing full well there's a Cold War between al haymon and hbo
Makes sense. Still it would be nice to see some pseudo tournament

Anyone remember how they arranged an 8-man tournament at 135 some years back? Whole thing fell apart pretty quickly. Hopefully this will be different.

Doubtful the top guys in the division aren't going to want their future opponents decided for them for the next 2-3 fights though, especially as there is no guarantee how long Floyd will be around. Should still throw up some good fights if it happens.
