I just outlined for you the distribution pie. Telling me production costs are not cheap is so absurd I don't even know where to begin. This is a fight, not a movie. It won't cost millions.Comment

That still doesn't mean **** because we know they would get that much. 1.5 million at 70 a piece is 56 million after the cable companies get their cut. The fight did 800k the first time at 900k the second time. At 900k that's only 34 million after the cable companies get their cut. That's the last fight only made 30 million after cable companies get their cut.
I really don't want to get into it much more that that, I will if I have to, but saying a theoretical buy of 1.5 million means Floyd made money is not even grasping at straws or desperation, it's idiocy.Comment

You're totally missing the point. Only $30m after? Yeah...and Showtime has already gotten their cut. That still doesn't mean **** because we know they would get that much. 1.5 million at 70 a piece is 56 million after the cable companies get their cut. when you make about the same ppv revenue as what you're paying 1 fighter. you're probably not making much and you might be losing.
ppv revenue is the bread and butter and it's close to what they guarantee floyd.
it's plain to see.Comment

You are taking the article out of context. If the fight did 1.5 million buys that is about 56 million after cable companies. Let's say Showtime gets 10% (Which seems about right) that would in fact leave Floyd 50 million.
The problem arises at numbers lower than a million because before Showtime gets a cut the best they did is 35 million. So again you're using theoretical numbers and I'm crunching the real thing, it paints a different scenario. You might not like it as much as the 1.5 million buy rate, but it's the reality of the situation.Comment
