ppv revenue is the bread and butter and it's close to what they guarantee floyd.

You are taking the article out of context. If the fight did 1.5 million buys that is about 56 million after cable companies. Let's say Showtime gets 10% (Which seems about right) that would in fact leave Floyd 50 million.

The problem arises at numbers lower than a million because before Showtime gets a cut the best they did is 35 million. So again you're using theoretical numbers and I'm crunching the real thing, it paints a different scenario. You might not like it as much as the 1.5 million buy rate, but it's the reality of the situation.

They didn't even get 35 million and that's assuming EVERY SINGLE buy was HD. That number could be even lower. Before I take in the gate or anything that's the number we have. Now, the casino could have given Floyd a site fee in which case the casino keeps the gate OR they didn't give Floyd a site fee and let him keep the gate money.

We then don't know how those numbers are divided amongst Showtime or Golden Boy, because Floyd has yet to promote his own fight. Either way by paying Floyd there's only about 2 million left over. We can get into all the other expenses but the fact of the matter is simple. If you put a fight on PPV and you break even after paying everyone's purse that's a flop.
