If he loses, he will lose his position of being the "A" side and leverage with Canelo. It will be a dumb move.

Cotto-Floyd is meaningless at this point.

Canelo-Cotto and Floyd-Pac are the best fights moneywise for all involved, improving their legacy, not to mention these are the fights I think most fans want to see in 2015.

      It's a win-win-win

I totally agree with the logic....

Cotto should go after floyd, tangle the lineal mw belt, and an escape route away from manny and khan,, no one would be able to criticize floyd for taking that fight...

Cotto loses to floyd, him and Canelo still can do big business together...

          It's pretty simple..

Cotto can go after floyd and canelo..
Or cotto can risk it all by fighting canelo first..

Honestly cotto will have a better chance of beating MAYweather at 160 then he will at beating canelo....

how much can cotto get from floyd?

even if a floyd/cotto does better ppv, canelo/cotto might be way more money.
Cotto isn't splitting 50/50 with canelo. Especially if he concedes date and venue. That's just not happening. Anyways Canelo might be the better money but we are talking about a guy who chose trout over canelo a few years ago. Cotto ain't gonna play nice at the negotiating table. He never does

Of course it makes sense because why would we want to see a rematch of Cotto vs Mayweather? We all know Cotto beat an already broken down version of Sergio Martinez thanks to Chavez Jr. Besides both Cotto and Canelo have both faced Jr but have never faced each other and every time you have Puerto Rican and a Mexican fighter especially on a Latin holiday, it's the super bowl of boxing.

Another Mayweather rematch is not going to sell cause it would be the same as watching a reply of Floyd Maidana 2 "peeleft:

Remember I said it. Cotto isn't fighting Canelo IMO. Cotto and Floyd already know who their fighting.....each other!
