Marquez no doubt IMO.

Morales and Barerra were boxing legends and Mexican icons, but people forget, for a long time those two acted like Marquez didn't exist.

The entire boxing world pretty much ignored Marquez at that time. He was like the Rigondeux of his time.

He got labeled boring, they said he didn't fight like a Mexican, had no star power, etc etc. Morales and MAB wanted no part of him.

I couldn't agree with this more... And it's the facts. Marquez had little to know fanbase. He was an oddball for a mexican fighter. No one wanted to fight Marquez. What made his early fights with Manny so special is--it was a dawn of a new era. Marco and Erik were out..

I favor marquez in this match up but it really is a toss up fight. to bad it never happened . two great fighters
