I'm not saying anybody had the defined right to any date. But this just seems absolutely petty by Canelo and Oscar and his team to get one over on Mayweather. Shame neither could do it in the ring when they had chance.

And i don't say this as a Floyd fan because im not particularly a fan. I've given him plenty of **** on this forum for some things he does.

the guy is Mexican how the hell can you say he is trying to steal the date from Floyd point black Floyd is not Mexican why not fight on the fourth of July

didn't Arum make Hatton vs PAcquiao in May?

Who was the mexican in that fight?

UFC does an event on 4th of July weekend every year. Would it be smart to have a main event between a Brazilian and a Canadian?? Lol no!

Exactly my point. what does it matter? Mexican or not, fighters are allowed to fight on that date. It's not disrespectful if they do fight. It's not even relevant where they are from or what the date is. It's just a fight and a date.

Nobody has the defined right to fight on that date but Arum seems to think it should be given up for Mexicans. Ridiculous theory.

Anybody should be able to fight wherever on that date but it just seems like Oscar and Canelo's main reason for it are to get at Floyd and prove some sort of point, knowing that Floyd will basically have that date reserved at the MGM so was almost 100% likely to fight that date.

I don't particularly care who uses that date, but using it as a reason to prevent a Floyd v Manny fight would be a terrible excuse.

            Here we go.

The statement of Arum "disrespectul to Mexicans" is ******. But it is OBVIOUS what this is about. Maximizing revenues for both fights. If they go at the same time, both lose money. The fact is Canelo talked about May 2 way before Mayweather "accepted' Pacquiao's challenge. Canelo is Mexican. Of course he would want to fight on May 2 for his people. And the fact is he said it first. Much earlier than Floyd's posturing now.

So Mayweather insisting that the fight happen on Mayy 2 is OBVIOUSLY another road block. Why can't he fight on another date? They could fight way before May 2 or way after. Why insist on May 2 when it is not going to be beneficial to either group?
Because it is another excuse for the fight not to happen.

Mayweather is unbelievable. What's worse are fans who buy his bullsheet. If they really are fans and not paid TMT employees.

as you all see there is no winning with these guys, they talked all that sht then mayweather responded and now this and they find a way to turn it around on floyd... there is really no need to even talk boxing with people like this... its a sad reality.

How about ending the talks on both sides and sign the contracts?

Who is stopping Floyd to fight on that date? If for some reason Pac vs Floyd does not happen... again... then let him fight whoever he wants on May 2 and prove to everybody that his name alone can sell fights"peeleft:

You really believed mayweather was serious to begin with? Did you not hear mayweather punk a$$ say that fight will happen only happen on showtime which means he had no intention of compromise to begin with. You may groupies are really on crack
