It can easily be moved. But they've been negotiating for a month or so now with that date in mind. If contracts are signed and the date is set for May 2nd while Floyd is d*cking around and posting Marquez highlights on facebook... why would it need to be moved?

And I'll ask again, for about the 10th time (with no answer)... why does the biggest money fight in History featuring a Black guy and a Filipino have to be on a Mexican Holiday?

    Any time you're ready.

You also haven't answered why Arum is even concerned about what date Canelo fights on.
Already addressed that. He could care less about Canelo or the Mexican people. But he does have a financial stake in the fight as he's the co-promoter and is representing Cotto. The most lucrative option for that particular fight is Cinco de Mayo weekend whereas a Pac-Floyd fight would make the same amount of money if it was staged on a random Tuesday afternoon in February via satellite feed from the middle of Siberia.

Any time you're ready, no rush.

      Something else.

Please give me one good reason why Mayweather-Pacquaio shouldn't be on that date?
Man y'all thick. Let's try this again: This is NOT really about the date. Arum is just trying to screw Floyd. Oscar is too. And I can't blame them. He needs to find a credible opponent for that date now, if he still wants it. Check f**ing mate.

And this is also not about making Pac/Floyd fight because honestly, we're no closer than in 2009.

If Cotto fights on May 2nd, and he's trained by Freddie Roach... obviously Freddie can't train Manny as well. There's a logical reason.

Now AGAIN- tell me why Pac-Floyd can't be in April, or June, or any other date.

        I'll wait.
I don't know what all the motives are here but I agree with what you said earlier - the fight could be on a weekday and it would do fine.

I don't know if people agree but I think it would be better for boxing to not have Pac-Floyd in May, so that Canelo can be ushered in and maximize the Cotto event on Cinco De Mayo. Nothing extra comes to Pac-Floyd because of Cinco De Mayo. Canelo-Cotto would benefit a lot from it and that helps boxing. It'll still be Floyd's date, just like it's still Oscar's date..but onto bigger things now, the final stage of his career..it's cool to move on. Floyd's last fights, assuming Pac being involved, should be huge and promotable on their own, without any special date.

It would be the best way for all involved and for Canelo, the next generation (agree or not), to be ushered in to see what he can do.

(still: whatever they have to do, I don't care. GEt it done!)

What does it matter they've been negotiating? They can still change it, nothing is signed.

You just said it can be moved so what's the difference?

Word is Floyd and Pacquaio have been negotiating aswell anyway..

You're not on this planet if you think having this fight on Cinco De Mayo won't maximise the revenue.

There is no logic what so ever having Canelo-Cotto on that date over the biggest fight in history.

            This thread is embarrassing

Floyd wants the fight and you're trying to explain why it shouldn't happen.

Ok you think Arum is trying to screw Floyd.

So, obviously that's no fault of Floyd's then is it.

                      It is genuinely embarrassing

Posting this thread acting like it makes Arum look good when it literally does the complete opposite.

Like you can't move a date
