Does Mauricio Herrera keep getting robbed because there is no market for him?

He gets robbed because he fights up and coming stars who the lead promoters have invested millions of dollars in. And he's a ripe target because he has no power and doesn't do anything eye catching or memorable.
If he fought guys like Ruslan who have no superstar potential he would get decisions in his favor.
Hate to say it but your average boxing fan has no idea about Herrera's recent robberies.Comment

Clean and hard punching. He generally stays in the pocket and either partially blocks punches or takes the sting off shots with his head movement and that can leave a lot of room for interpretation for judges. The fact that his own punches, even when landed clean, usually lack steam, together with the ambiguity of how clean his opponents' punches are landing is likely to make judges want to give the benefit of the doubt to his opponent, especially if they are the bigger name/house fighter.Comment

Feel bad for the guy. It just gives Garcia ammunition to now dodge the Herrera rematch even more.Comment

Herrera was born to be a loser. Even when he wins, he is told he is a loser. Life is cruel. "peeleft:Comment

The irony of your question obviously escapes you. What are you on about, Lara-Canelo? I honestly have no clue what your on about but I know Canelo would KTFO Lara if he wasn't chasing his sorry ass all over the ring but NOT VISE VERSA. That's what I know if that's what your on about. Lara fought his fight and still looked like **** doing it.
Now, back to Herrera,
Wow man, I can't believe you went there. A flipping dead even fight and your pulling out the robbery card ? That's annoying AF
I never said it was the exact same I was referring to his question of guys not getting decisions cause of not having a fan base even tho they clearly win close fights Lara is the embodiment of that and him having an avi of Canelo while asking that was hilarious, most people got how ironic the **** is him asking that so im gna say this is willful ignorance. He wins the fight but people don't like his style so he looses over not getting hit enough, Herrera aint even a good example of what he said he does have a fan base he gets second place in the fkd over category.Oh, come on man, drop that. If Lara had done to Canelo, what he did to Smith on Friday, he wouldn't have had to deal with a split decision loss. Let's remember, 2 judges had the scores 115-113 for either guy, while Levi Martinez was the obviously bought judge.
On the other hand, all 3 judges had the fight for Benavidez tonight. Two of them had him 116-112, the third judge had him 117-111. Lara had a chance to win. Herrera could've dropped Benavidez 3 times, yet he would've ended up with a freaking draw.Last edited by DannYankee; 12-14-2014, 11:30 AM.Comment

Getting robbed twice in a year is mind blowing. It's disheartening and makes me hate boxing. I'm so jaded after last night.Comment

I think it's a fair statement. A crafty mexican fighter who lacks carisma and self promotion skills. His ethnicity doesn't appreciate the style, those who support the style have plenty in their own ethnic makeup to support. His style is not fan friendly and he offers the sport no visual or verbal niche.
I also think e tends to fight to the level of his competition, which doesn't help matters either. When u factor in he's no spring chicken whose brighter side awaits him, it's the perfect storm and why he gets robbed so much.Comment
