He's an easy fighter to rob. He goes about his business in a workman-like fashion, almost no flash or sizzle to his style/game. He isn't fast and doesn't have much power either. He doesn't create an image of dominance and overall ring generalship. Cleto_Reyes said in another thread that it wasn't a robbery because Benavidez landed the better/harder shots. That's probably why the score-cards looked the way they did.

On Showtime, on HBO, on a Golden Boy card, on a Top Rank card. These guys have absolutely no shame. Benavidez was acting like he won, when even his dad/trainer was saying he needs to get that KO. All the ringside media scored it for Herrera. HBO scored it for Herrera (the guy that's been showcased by Showtime as of late).

Boxing is an absolute joke. It's a shame these judges will NOT be held accountable for this, and they'll be back to judge another fight like nothing ever happened. This predetermined, WWE, scripted garbage needs to stop. It's a disgrace to boxing, and it's a giant F YOU to all the boxing fans in the world.

Oh, come on man, drop that. If Lara had done to Canelo, what he did to Smith on Friday, he wouldn't have had to deal with a split decision loss. Let's remember, 2 judges had the scores 115-113 for either guy, while Levi Martinez was the obviously bought judge.

On the other hand, all 3 judges had the fight for Benavidez tonight. Two of them had him 116-112, the third judge had him 117-111. Lara had a chance to win. Herrera could've dropped Benavidez 3 times, yet he would've ended up with a freaking draw.

Hererra reminds me of Glen Johnson, the light-heavyweight former titlist. Johnson used to get robbed on a regular basis because he was always serving as the opponent to a guy some promoter wanted to showcase. This happened until he KO'd Roy Jones. After that, he started getting the respect that he deserved.

Hererra can win every round against a well-promoted opponent and he will still lose. He has to KTFO of a world champion or well-promoted opponent to earn any respect.

I don't expect that to happen.
