Thurman said he was willing to fight Alvarez at 154lbs. Golovkin said he was willing to do 154 for Mayweather. Theoretically they could meet, but since Thurman's power is unlikely to carry up I don't see much point in it.

I see the former hype job Oscar is getting his Canelo ducking GGG excuses in early.

I love when people say he has to beat you with his power. As if he is John Molina who either lands his big shots or loses the fight. When is the last time you have seen Golovkin even lose a round? He is strong but he is also a very good boxer. If any of his recent opponents could handle the power for 12 rounds he still would have won the fights 120-108.

I disagree. Not that he's NOT a good boxer but it's hard to be competitive with a guy that's nearly KOing you with every shot. You get gun shy, and start giving up ground and start letting Golovkin dictate the pace.

You need to be able to back Golovkin up. I've seen it done a few times for a short period of time.

I'd honestly call Golovkin's opposition better than Thurman's.

Geale was a former champ, Stevens was a live opponent, Macklin had been a very solid performer at the weight...Thurman has beat, Chavez? That's about it.

I'm not getting on the Thurman bandwagon yet his best boxer he's beaten is C level Soto Karaus lets match him with a number 1 contender like Bradley or a bottom 10 like Broner
