  • Comments Thread For: Thurman Sees Maidana as The Path To Mayweather

Keith "One Time" Thurman (23-0, 21KOs) is on a mission to secure a 2015 showdown with WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (47-0, 26KOs).

Thurman is back on Saturday night, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, when he steps in the ring in a Showtime televised fight against unbeaten Italian Olympian Leonard Bundu (31-0-2, 11KOs).

If the circumstances are right, Thurman believes Mayweather would agree to fight him. Both men are advised by Al Haymon.

Thurman has called Maidana out a few times in the last couple of days and numerous times before.

I think Thurman will fight Maidana or Guerrero in the first half of next year, he seems pretty confident that he'll get some top 10 guys next year, he's probably been promised it.

If Thurman impresses tonight, no doubt we will see him vs maidana in the spring.

I don't see too many fighters calling out the new Maidana trained by Robert Garcia. Especially now that he's got 24 competetives round with master boxer Floyd Mayweather. Even though losing both his confidence is on a danerous high

Only if the money is right. Maidana only wants the big money fights now, I bet.

Realisitcally he can't really fight a guy with a bigger name than Thurman in the first half of next year, other than maybe D.Garcia if he moves uop.
