Also for a long long time Roy showed he could remain elusive and explosive for a full hard 12 rounds, I don't think GGG would be able to catch him but his timing and ability to cut off the ring would give him a chance

I like GGG! I really do. And he is not only entertaining, but has tremendous abilities. But he is average-sized MW. Jones was natural in SMW. And his "weak chin" was exposed (you can also put this in quotes)) at a higher weight long after his prime. When people say that Jones is the greatest of all times, they should add "based on abilities rather than accomplishments". And this claim is not far off. I would put my money on RJJ in this fantasy match-up.

I guess the thing I find most amazing about this thread is people being under the impression that Roy didn't have one punch knockout power. I have to ask if these same people have seen him fight?
Roy had tremendous power, timing, and speed. Fighters couldn't rush him like they can with Floyd, or Ali for example because of the threat of that power. He was totally devastating, and the fighters who did rush him (especially in his prime) generally ended up hitting the deck.
In terms of this fight, I don't think it would be much of a contest. Golovkin would have as much of a chance as anyone did in the 90's against Roy...not very much of one. Not to mention that he is a pretty small fighter overall in comparison, we saw what happened to Trinidad against Roy, ok it was a faded Trinidad against a pretty much shot Jones but the principal is the same. I think Golovkin is a beast at 160, but his style and frame will mean it's not be easy for him to succeed higher than 160 in my honest opinion.
He has very little chance against Ward, I think a prime Roy is very far fetched, it's too early for these fantasy match ups.

They can go from saying things like a C fighter is a dangerous fight for GGG.
