let's at least see him get past Andre Ward first.

Why does he need to beat Andre Ward to prove it?
Beating the likes of Carl Froch, Andre/Anthony Dirrell and Korobov would be more than good enough, Andre Ward would beat everyone on Roy Jones Jr record and Golovkin probably would as well although I think Neither Ward/GGG would be ****** enough to try and move to heavyweight.
Why must we always overrate past fighters?
Either Ward or GGG would give Roy Jones Jr a hell of a fight why must you be so bitter towards it?

He's certainly the greatest fighter I've ever seen in 16 years of being a hardcore fan and I think would be considered, by most objective viewers, in the top 3 of the last 20 years. All time, im not sure, but, This is absurd, we know roy jones body of work and how he handled guys of all styles. Ggg hasn't done anything close to what roy has, that's not to say ggg couldn't win, but there's nothing to suggest he should be favoured.

It wouldn't matter If we had someone breaking records in this era people would always find a way to tarnish it somehow, the nostalgic fan-base take their support of something way too far.

When you put someone on a pedestal and try to make someone untouchable from comparisons and respond with disdain it doesn't really do the debate any favours.

We're all human at the end of the day its 1v1, Roy Jones Jr was proven to have used steroids and other illegal substances yet that is never brought up with regards to his boxing career but yet it is brought into question with Lance Armstrong?

Then other notable mentions which seem to get ignored but they get tonnes of praise on here, Salido, James Toney, Shane Mosley and there likely has been many more that have been users of the drugs but luckily we have organisations like USADA to protect them now.

Why the bias, all I ask.

not imo....roy jones speed and power combined with his reflexes and footwork no doubt i would think that be too much, and would be far better then anything GGG will ever face..including my boy ward....butt......GGG has ability and would always have a punchers chance since roy relied heavly on his reflexes but id say thats a very slim chance as far as im concerned..because skills pay bills!

IMO Roy never had one-punch KO power like GGG. His punch volume will bother GGG, but I doubt Roy can seriously hurt him. That said, no one has the speed to match/catch prime Roy. Simply too fast. I see a UD which goes extremely similar to Ruiz fight.

Golovkin would never fight a prime Roy Jones because Jones, in his prime fought at 168 and 175. Golovkin is only willing to fight guys at 160 and below.
