Do you guys think Kovalev coulda beaten Roy Jones Jr in his prime?

I was watching RJJ fight Clinton Woods on YouTube and Woods was able to get RJJ back against the ropes on at least a couple of occasions.

Though you think a murderous puncher like Kovalev would be able to KO RJJ with a brutal body shot or break him down gradually if he was able to get Roy Jones Jr near the ropes fairly regularly?

Roy in his prime before moving up to heavyweight... I don't think so. Roy at Light heavyweight was still much quicker than most if not all in the divison. I'd say Jones would win by comfortable decision but Kovalev chin has yet to be tested and a prime Jones would test it in the first 4.

As much as I like Kova, a prime Roy would be too much..

Any puncher as monstrous as Kovalev would most definitely have a shot.

That said the obvious smart money would be on Roy.
