  • Comments Thread For: Arum on Chavez-Froch Talk: Nobody Wants To Get Sued

So is there any light at the end of the tunnel between Top Rank and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, who are the midst of a promotional dispute that has seen Chavez Jr. languish on the sidelines since March?

"Nope, not that I know off," said Arum, who's well aware of the talk surrounding a Carl Froch-Chavez Jr. clash in Las Vegas for the upcoming spring. But the veteran promoter stated - "all I know is that Carl Froch is talking about retiring."

These types of contract disputes never go well for the boxer and Arum's contracts seem to be iron clad. Junior should have honored his contract and given the old man 1 last fight that he owed him. Now he will be shelved like Ward and Garcia.

I feel bad for Chavez. He may be a lazy weed head, but at least he is trying to take control of his career and leave Bob like ODH and Floyd did. Unfortunately for him Bo is a very smart and shrewd lawyer who will not make it easy to leave.

I can understand not wanting to sign an extension either just to get one fight. At this point, Chavez needs to just give Bob the fight he owes him, no matter how poor the pay, and move on. Don't waste your career like Ward seems to be doing.

Bob needs to give chavez what he wants for one fight with Golovkin....feed him to that beast and he will return to Haymon as damaged goods.

Chavez should just take the fight with less money, it would get him out of the contract plus its still more money than most boxers make.

Signing with a promoter and advisor who don't work with each other. Pretty ******. What is Hamon advising ... to sit on the sidelines and miss out on lucrative fights? Arum's hideous but if Chavez has a fight remaining on that contract he should honour it and move on.

weather he owes you a fight or not does'nt matter. its what arum tried to do behind jr's back is the problem. arum tried to sneak in an extension based on jr getting the GGG fight. and Golovkin is'nt even promoted toprank. thankfully somebody caught it. jr should take a 4 rounder and move on

Boom. Chavez will be on ice until October 2015, with his only early out if he agrees to fight Gilberto Sanchez. Jr is an idiot, he could took decent money without an extension and been out of his contract already. TR invested and built him, they're not about to let Haymon reap the benefits without having put in any of that work. Good riddance to Chavez, he ****** anyways.
