My dad has been wanting me to join boxing for a few years, but I keep telling him they wont let me join because I wear glasses. I wouldnt mind joining but I know it isnt possible so can someone please confirm that I cant join so I can print this out and show it to him? Thanks.

Just go for the workout and see how much you really like it. You may decide to fight as an amateur and you may not. Still you should at least step foot in the gym and give it a try. Worse comes to worse you'll get into great shape and learn to defend yourself.

That's true. But if you quit suddenly then you will gain weight fast. I left my gym a while back and I gained 7 pounds. I think I've found a new gym though.

Well I am gonna give it a shot, but I just figured that there was a rule that you can't join if you wear glasses. Of course I would take them off! What kind of dumbass would leave them on? I am near sighted so I guess it wouldnt be much of a problem since they arent punching you from 5 yards away. On another note, how much does it usually cost to join a city-run boxing gym?

keep in mind that you'll be out of the ring, working on the skills, when you first get there.. for awhile...weeks..unless you enter the gym and call someone out which im sure you wont do. so dont worry, isn't like as soon as you enter the gym they throw you in there with someone to spar with.
