Hmm.

I would agree with Marquez, like I always do, but the thing is Canelo is a bigger draw than Cotto. Canelo's PPV with Angulo, a non top 10 fighter, sold about as much as Cotto's PPV vs Martinez, The Ring MW champ. Canelo's PPV with Mayweather sold 700,000 more PPV's than Cotto's PPV vs Mayweather. I'm willing to bet every penny I have, that if Canelo fought this past prime version of Pacquiao, he would out sell Cotto Vs Pacquiao, by a pretty comfortable margin of at least 500k, which would show amazing star power from Canelo since Cotto fought a prime Pacquiao.

It's clear as day that Canelo is a huge star and he is either #3 or tied with Pacquiao as #2. Cotto at this point is behind May, Pac, and Canelo. There's nothing with that though. Getting 200-300k households to pay $60-70 bucks for your fight is already huge success. People downplay that to mock other fighters who sell triple that amount but 200-300k is what you call a successful and known pro fighter. 500k and up, you're talking about superstar status.

Canelo is still #3 by a distance. But connecting to my earlier post, it would make great sense for Oscar if he somehow makes a fight with Pacquiao. It would benefit Oscar a hell of a lot more than Arum and Co. though, especially considering if Canelo were to win.
It could do maybe 1.6-1.7. Hopefully it wouldn't be in Texas, that would be awful judging in the scenario that there isn't a stoppage.

Canelo WILL win this fight. Regardless of what Diva demands Cotto wants. I have pretty much bet all my points on it. And I still have a small chunk left if there is any takers. CANELO by comfortable decision or possibly a late stoppage. Mark those words!

Marquez is talking like a victory over Cotto would be some earth shattering moment that changes everything for Canelo.

It really wouldn't. Beating Cotto in and of itself isn't a big deal for starters. He's not rated that highly north of 147 (and arguably even there), and Austin Trout already beat him easily at 154.

Plus, Canelo is already a superstar with drawing power as big as Cotto's if not bigger.

All Cotto has is a belt garnered through opportunism that should have belonged to Martin Murray anyway. He is milking a paper title. That's it.

I really get tired on Marquez trying to talk about everyone's business as though he's such an authority. Maybe he should suggest to both Canelo & Cotto it's wise to drink your own pee.

Are you ****ing ******ed? Do you think he chases down journalists who would otherwise ignore him just to talk about these guys? You think he just brings up these subjects randomly while they want to talk about the weather?

First, he gets asked these questions specifically by boxing journalists. Second, it is his job in Mexico to comment on boxing stuff. He is an expert analyst, a little like Jones Jr with HBO, but in more of a boxing talk show type role. ****ing goose.

It's actually his job to comment specifically on these things on a TV show. Christ, some people on here are genuinely mentally undercooked.

My bad! Manny don't need Floyd anyway. Algeri and Vargas are viable options.
