Nevada like Florida has no state or city tax. The 39.6% is federal tax for those making over 400k.

I commend you for explaining it to people who only knows TurboTax.

          U.S tax rate 39.6%
Pacquiao gets taxed 32% from the Philippines. They deduct whatever he's taxed elsewhere from it up to 32%. If he's taxed 13% in Macau he will be taxed 19% in the Philippines.

Then I guess its beneficial for him when he fights in China.

              Just to clarify something:

Why is [$40m +35% of the PPV upside] a "bad deal" for Top Rank/Pacquiao again?

Pacquiao-Vargas, even in the US, isn't going to do much more than 400k buys, and that's the "in case Bob can't get Mayweather"(lol) emergency choice. Outside of a fifth Marquez fight, there's not a Top Rank-promoted fight that can be expected to cover Pacquiao's guarantee on PPV.

Logically, what leverage does Arum go into the "negotiations" with Moonves with when, as any logical executive would do, he asks his operations guy at Showtime Sports about the Mayweather revenues, and comes back to ask Arum about his revenues for Pacquiao? lol

His last three PPV's since being KO'ed have done under 2mil buys collectively, less than Mayweather-Alvarez alone. And it's only going to get worse.

I think the deal is a great deal for Pac.

And Moonves isnt some small time promoter, hes the CEO of a major global company. Arum isnt going to be able to push him around and hes gonna have to do some things he doesnt want to do or walk.

Pac Vs Clottey do 700K and Pac - Bradley 1-2 do good numbers considering bradley can't draw crowd on his hometown.

His operations guy will tell him that we loss $16 million on their last two fights...
Arum will then say, HBO ain't complaining.
