people easily forgot ODLH's intention of fighting pac. he want's to avenge his controversial loss to pbf.. PBF beating ODLH want's the rematch to take place at 147 since he was the one on the driver seat.

ODLH have a good catchweight fight first before the pac fight and he did well on that fight. he never drops drastically from 154 to 147. he fought at 150 first.

then he wants to acclimate himself on his first 147 fight which he haven't fought for nearly a decade. picking a small guy, a career featherweight who have beaten all the mexican ATGs of the lower weight. he wants to avenge those loses and gain more support from his mexican roots.

it backfired, and the rest is history..

I would love to watch this fight in HD and 60 fps. HBO should make what fights they have available online, for a fee if they must.

He was on the coke diet haha. Whether Manny fought a drained 147 Oscar or a healthy young 147 Oscar I still see Pac dominating. Pac was full offense and slipping under his lead left all night long. Oscar is left handed mind you and his right hand isn't very powerful.

Trinidad vs Pacquiao, now that'd be interesting

De la hoya dominated tito doe... tito only fought 1 way and that was in a straight line, pacs speed, power and angles would of been way to much for tito despite the height advantage... de la hoyas superb jab would have kept pac at bay and he would have been able to match both speed and power in exchanges against pac...imo prime undefeated oscar smashes pacquaio pre marquez 4.!

I remember putting in my bet immediately after this fight was announced and got +700 odds for Pac. The closer the fight the lower the odds. I remember it dropping to +300 after the weigh in. This is the fight that got me hooked into betting on fights. So far i only lost twice so Im good.

              I went to the steve
forbes fight and sat front row
oscar looked sluggish slow weak and he lost rounds to forbes ..

I went to the vargas fight sat 3 rows back.oscar looked good and it was a very competitive fight.

I went to the tito fight and sat 3 rows back.. fulltime out classed tito and side stepped fornthe last 3. Oscar clearly outboxed tito .looked sharpe

Weight drained and old is the reason! I remember reading about how Oscar was in the gym with roach and sparing with Calderon. Roach said he couldn't even hit him,he knew Oscar was shot. That's why "boxing" fans discredit that fight.

                  Here's some...
                  By Mark Vester

Last week, trainer Freddie Roach spoke about a sparring session that took place last year between Ivan Calderon, then the WBO champion at 105-pounds, and Oscar De La Hoya. Roach, who was training De La Hoya at the time, brought in Calderon to prepare Oscar for the speed of Floyd Mayweather Jr. Roach, in his Ring Magazine blog, said Calderon boxed De La Hoya's ears off and made the much bigger fighter look silly by making him miss most of his punches. Based on the Calderon sparring session, Roach is confident that De La Hoya will have a lot of trouble when he faces Manny Pacquiao on December 6.

Now that's a great story bro! The Mexican/American who was hated for his other similar plan fighting JCC and winning, wants to get his Mexican fan base back, beat Pacquiao for beating all the Mexican ATG's and fight Floyd beat him and retire! WOW! If only this was true, can you imagine the movie?? lol
I know I added the JCC but it makes better!

it's true... nobody is on the pac bandwagon back then and lot's of writers were calling that fight a farce.. how they fear for the little man's health and how this fight was a circus.

it was the pbf rematch at 147 that drive ODLH to do that mistake..
