Pascal's movement and explosiveness can give Kov some problems. Lets just see how his chin holds up to Kov's bombs.

This one will come down to how well Pascal can take a punch. His activity will give Kovalev issues. Good fight.

I'm just happy to see fighters that actually fight and fight guys who are a challenge, not a long shot. Kovalev is a beast and underrated boxer, much more than just a puncher. Pascal has my respect because he never backs away from a big fight. Gonna be a good one.

You guys don't seems to give any chance to Pascal.. it's really funny to read all those comments. You don't really seems to know Jean Pascal well... I follow him since his very first fight and here's what I can tell you :

Pascal fought hopkins twice and you may not remember... but he knockdown Hopkins twice in the first fight when Hopkins was 46 at the time. Kovalev knockdown him only once... and he was about to turn 50...
Not to mention that Froch once said his fight against Pascal was his hardest fight since he is pro (He said that 2 or 3 years ago).
And have you guys forget that Pascal UD11 Dawson when Dawson was considerated the 6th best P4P ? He was undefeated at the time and Pascal was not the favorite on that night.
And do you know that Pascal fought with a dislocated shoulder for more than half of his second fight against Diaconnu? And he still won easily..

Don't count Pascal lost before the ring bell. This men has an Iron mental with a lot of confidence and I am sure he will shock the boxing world on March 14.
You can say whatever you want because, at the end of the day, we will only know on March 14!

Exactly, it's like people have no clue who Pascal is, he never went down in any fight ever, pro or amateur, and the way he handled Bute was impressive, he won all 12 rounds and showed great technical improvement since having RJJ in his corner.

Don't forget that Kovalev biggest win is a 50 YO boxer in 12 rounds

            Good fight.
2015 maybe a great year for boxing with this fight, and Cotto vs Canelo, Floyd maybe fighting Manny, Khan vs Brook is a possibility.

Stevenson will probably fight Bute next year.

Decent fight IMO. Pretty ballsy for Kovalev to go to Montreal. That shows what they must really think about Pascal.

Damn, snatching all the decent opponents from Stevenson.

It shows what kind of fighter Kovalev is more than what they think of Pascal.

This fight is still subject to IBF approval, I wouldn't be shocked if it wasn't granted.
