People are under estimating the value of free tv rights

Doesn't Manny get like 40-50 millions viewers on the Philipines alone ?

In a western country, 1 viewer for 1 hour is worth (very roughly) around $1 in advertising revenue. Now in a poor country with less money to spend its worth a lot less but even if it's only 5c an hour on the Philipines and China etc, that's 2 hours at say 100 mil viewers which is $10mil.

Then there's ppv on other countries like Australia and NZ (a lot of Asians live there) and free TV in wealthy countries like Germany where viewership is worth a lot more.

So there's more money out there than the obvious ppv and gate etc.

For example Indian cricket tv rights are worth a fortune even tho it's a relatively poor country and on free TV and 1/3 of the country doesn't even have TV.

Arums a smart guy he knows how to find other ways to make money.

I would expect the numbers to suck. Who the hell liked this fight?

A Vargas fight would do equally crappy #'s. Someone please explain to me why they would turn down any offer at this point.

Because every boxer should be paid for their fair market value.

And if a fight with FLoyd took place, peole would be paying to see Pac and FLoyd fgiight each other - not to see FLoyd fight, or not to see Pac fight.

And without Pac, Floyd can''t make 100 millino dollars.

So why should Pac let his name be profitted off of, when he's not getting his fair share?

Anything less than 60/40 is a joke. 60/40 for all revenue split is perfectly fair. None of this "I buy out your services for 40 million," and then adding that, you get a percentage of an upside (if it reaches a certain amount of buys)... NO - all revenue from every PPV buy, from every ticket purchased, split 60/40.

Lol it's not like FLoyd is making much more money than Pac.

He's made 32 million guaranteed for his last two fights against Maidana. 40% tax rate, and that's about 20 million before expenses like paying Haymon, trainer, etc.

Pac made 20 million TAX FREE, before expenses...

Wrong. He gets taxed from the Philippines if not in China.

Fair market value is exactly why Pacquiao isn't getting 60-40.

At this point, it doesn't matter. All this tells me is that both Mayweather and Pacquiao need the fight now more than ever, especially Pacquiao. If he truly wants the fight and doesn't want to see his popularity wane as he battles crappy opposition then his team can't keep finding excuses to turn down the fight.

Sources. I've read tax free - if you can show me otherwise, I would like to see.
