Algieri and Vargas are definitely weak ass opponents, and Khan and Maidana are waaaaaay better opponents.

But, the thing to consider is Pac is a puncher and is quite exciting, while Floyd is a low output puncher, and not a puncher at all. So of course, Floyd has to fight people who are themselves more exciting and well known.

If Floyd fought Algieri, it would simply be such a boring ugly fight, absolutely everyone would be turned off. Floyds ego cannot take this, so he has to find better opponents.
